The View was quick on Thursday to fend off comparisons of recent classified documents found in President Joe Biden’s Delaware home to those seized from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence last year.

It’s like “comparing apples to oranges,” Whoopi Goldberg said. “Let’s find out what they discover first, and then do whatever needs to be done,” she continued, ridiculing Sen. Lindsey Graham for requesting a special counsel.

“This needs to be investigated, but it is not the same. I’m sorry,” she concluded.

Alyssa Farah Griffin further claimed that “the facts are unequivocally different in the Trump and the Biden case. That is a fact. Trump obstruction is the biggest issue that he didn’t willingly and voluntarily hand over these documents.”

According to Sara Haines, those calling for investigations and special counsels are “creating this optic that it’s not being looked into,” which she assured viewers that it is.

“Anyone with any amount of brain cells knows these are not completely equivalent purely because the volume, the obstruction, the refusal, they had to storm the golden castle to get it,” Haines added.

Goldberg again suggested that people should wait to find out the content of the documents before jumping to conclusions.

“How many documents, yes,” Sunny Hostin agreed. “What the documents are. What type of classification classification.”

“I’ve never seen a luckier person than Donald Trump,” Joy Behar complained. “Just as we’re this close to getting him, somehow these documents appear.”

Goldberg further expressed concern that “it’s already been spun a specific way.”

“Does it feel like [opposition] research to you? Do you feel like the Republicans are behind it?” Hostin wondered.

White House counsel Richard Sauber revealed on Thursday that another batch of classified documents from Joe Biden’s vice presidency was located in his Wilmington, Delaware garage. This comes after a first batch of documents was discovered at a Biden-aligned think tank, sparking an inquiry. This led Biden’s lawyers to embark on searches of his Delaware residences.
