Army officials say they are aware of a small number of fires occurring with the engines of the helicopters, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

Officials said the grounding of the entire fleet of Chinook helicopters was “out of an abundance of caution,” per the report.

The grounding of the helicopters, which have been used by the Army since the 1960s, will likely cause logistical issues for the military if it lasts an extended period of time. The move also comes as the Army is struggling to meet recruiting goals.
