President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 again days after he emerged from isolation once the White House confirmed that he tested negative.

Biden has no symptoms and continues to feel “quite well,” White House physician Kevin O’Connor wrote in a note Saturday.

“After testing negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning, and Friday morning, the president tested positive late Saturday morning by antigen testing,” he said. “This in fact represents ‘rebound’ positivity.”

Biden will re-initiate strict isolation procedures, O’Connor added.

Biden delivered a triumphant speech Wednesday after initially testing negative twice for COVID-19.

The White House had hoped to get Biden, 79, back out on the road quickly after he had been forced to cancel travel to Pennsylvania and Florida following his diagnosis.

Biden worked throughout his isolation period, appearing unmasked on the Truman Balcony in a video filmed the same day as his positive test. Subsequent tweets and virtual appearances were intended to show the president working in his office.
