President Joe Biden joked about a heckler who had been yelling during his Human Rights Campaign National Dinner speech, stating that he could not hear what she was saying.

The president was delivering a speech on Saturday in which he stated that members of the LGBTQ community should know that “the Biden-Harris administration has your back.” During the speech, however, someone started shouting, prompting Biden to address the heckler.

“I know who’s hollering down there, but I can’t hear you,” Biden said, eliciting laughter from the audience. “I can’t hear her; what’s she saying?”

The audience then began to shout “four more years” after Biden’s remark, to which Biden stated that he was “not sure that’s a good thing,” quickly adding that he was “only joking.”

The woman continued to shout, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza, according to a report. The demands from the woman come in the wake of the war between Israel and the Hamas militant group.

On social media, Biden wrote that people need to “reject hate in every form.” The president claimed that antisemitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, and transphobia are “all connected” and that hate toward one group left unanswered “opens the door for more hate towards more groups.”

First lady Jill Biden was also at the dinner, and she delivered a speech of her own prior to her husband’s speech.

Israel Defense Forces Lt. Col. Peter Lerner stated Sunday that Israel is preparing for a multi-front war in the Middle East in the wake of the attack that Hamas launched on Oct. 7. Lerner also stated that Hamas Commander Billal Al Kedra, a top leader for the group, was killed in an airstrike on Saturday night.
