Former Attorney General Bill Barr shrugged off any name-calling from former President Donald Trump, claiming that it does not violate the gag order he is under.

Barr appeared Saturday on Cavuto Live and addressed his former boss referring to him as a coward. He brushed off the name, saying it “doesn’t really affect things” when it comes to Trump’s federal election subversion case in Washington.

“I don’t really consider it a violation of the gag order,” Barr said. “I mean if he was threatening or something like that, that might be a different story, but I just dismiss what he has to say. But I think, you know, the gag order is in a sensitive area. You have a candidate in a political race who’s running, and he should be able to speak freely, and he should also be able to attack the charges against him.”

The D.C. court already offered Trump more leeway when it comes to the gag order, allowing him to speak about special counsel Jack Smith, the lead prosecutor who brought the charges against Trump over allegations he illegally attempted to overturn the 2020 election. Smith is making his case based on the former president’s actions on Jan. 6, 2021.

“Just where to draw the line I think is delicate and, you know, if he threatens witnesses or things like that, it’s a different story,” Barr said. “But just calling people names, you know, I don’t think it’s that significant.”

Barr assured host Neil Cavuto that he is not intimidated by the things Trump has to say about him.

The former president has maintained a massive lead in the polls for the Republican presidential nomination despite the various indictments against him, which also include federal charges of mishandling classified documents. He has pleaded not guilty to all 91 felony charges against him.
