The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said officers found the body of a man in the pond after receiving a report of a possible deceased individual. A dive team located the three children inside a submerged vehicle, a black Saab, that was pulled from the water.

The family was last seen around 11 p.m. last Wednesday. Kyle Moorman’s sister, Mariah Moorman, said he had told her he was going night fishing on the evening they went missing, which he was known to do, according to the Indianapolis Star.

His sister reported that Kyle Moorman’s phone last pinged near the pond around 12:40 a.m. on July 7. Family members and friends had conducted a search at the pond and surrounding area in the days prior.

Police reported they had also searched the area on foot and by drones previously.
