A man from Ohio broke a pair of West Virginia records Wednesday when he reeled in a blue catfish weighing more than 67 pounds.
Steve Price broke the state’s records for both length and weight when he caught the huge fish, a release from the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources read.
The catfish was measured to be 50.7 inches long, and it weighed in at roughly 67.22 lbs.

The prior record for weight was set seven weeks prior to Price’s catch at 61.28 lbs.
Price was fishing in the lower section of the Kanawha River at the time, according to a report.

The validity of Price’s trophy fish was confirmed by the WVDNR’s hatchery manager, the report noted.
