CNN is under fire after one of the network’s correspondents “misgendered” and butchered the name of controversial transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
National correspondent Ryan Young referred to Mulvaney with “he” and “him” pronouns while discussing the devastating backlash Bud Light has endured since it partnered with Mulvaney earlier this year.

Young discussed how Bud Light is even facing criticism from the LGBT community for not standing by Mulvaney in the wake of the conservative-led boycott.
The correspondent hit the streets to ask citizens how they feel about the controversy, and Young made the slip-up while describing their reactions.
“We went to Nashville. We even talked to a bar in Chicago. One bar was telling us they’re not going to serve [Bud Light] because they don’t like the way Dylvan Mulvaney was treated after this whole controversy started,” he said.
“He, of course, is the transgender person they were gonna sponsor and go along with Bud Light. They didn’t like how Bud Light didn’t stand by him after all this. Of course, you have Kid Rock, who said he would not serve Bud Light in his bar. He shot up a case of Bud Light.”
Many on the Left have chastised CNN and Young since the correspondent’s failure to use Mulvaney’s preferred pronouns.
“@Ryanyoungnews is either ignorant or he’s practicing poor journalistic reporting for ratings and clicks!!” one person tweeted.

Please god, CNN.
Bring trans people on to talk about trans news.
This was a terrible segment, it misgenders Dylan the entire time and tries to both sides the idea of a transgender person even appearing in an ad.
Horrific. https://t.co/3xNQXyE0F4
