DON LEMON FIRED: NIKKI HALEY FUNDRAISES OFF CNN ANCHOR’S DOWNFALL

While discussing the former anchor’s abrupt exit, Fox News host Sean Hannity questioned Lemon’s self-proclaimed status as a serious journalist.

“He is a talk show host but claims to be a journalist,” Hannity said.

In response, Conway jeered: “If you Google him today, he, who is fond of Google — it says, fired.”

Conway’s response, which drew laughter and cheers from Hannity’s live audience, referenced Lemon’s comments made earlier this year about Republican presidential nominee Nikki Haley being “past her prime.”

Lemon made the remarks while hosting CNN This Morning in February. When co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins pushed back, he told them to “Google” it for confirmation.

“I have been waiting for years,” Conway told Hannity, for an opportunity to blast Lemon. “I dealt with him. He is mean. He is misogynist. He is unrepentant, and I want you to understand this because this is the difference between Don Lemon and other people. He was always unprepared.”

“Lemons, by their very nature, are bitter,” Conway added. “And I say Don Lemon is the most bitter of all.”

Lemon announced on Twitter Monday morning that his agent informed him of his termination from CNN, saying he was “stunned” and suggested there were “some larger issues at play.”

CNN released a statement following the termination, noting that the network offered Lemon an “opportunity to meet with management but [that he] instead released a statement on Twitter.”
