Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) is the latest Democrat to have been targeted by people protesting the war in Gaza after vandals wrote the phrases “Blood on ur hands” and “Let Gaza live” in graffiti on the exterior of his New York office.

The words “Free Palestine” were also spray-painted on the Jewish congressman’s office. The vandalism comes after a group of pro-Palestinian protester were arrested in a violent protest outside of the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters on Wednesday.

“Our office is accessible 24/7 by appointment, phone, social media, email, or mail, and our incredible constituent services team works around the clock to respond to outreach,” Goldman communications director Simone Kanter told the Washington Examiner. “Harassing, intimidating, and outright attacking the staff of a Jewish elected official at a time of rising violence and rampant antisemitism is dangerous and unacceptable.”

The New York City Police Department is investigating the incident and said officers were responding to graffiti nearby when they found the vandalism. Security footage showed at least two people defacing the building, but they put a plastic bag over the camera, which made the images blurry, according to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

Goldman, who has not publicly commented on the vandalism, was visiting Israel with his family when Hamas attacked the Jewish state. The New York congressman has expressed support for both Israel and Palestinian civilians since the Oct. 7 attack, but he has largely stood with Israel, as has the White House.

The incident follows the vandalism of the Democratic Party’s offices in Belknap County, New Hampshire, which were plastered with antisemitic and white supremacist messages on Wednesday night.

Protesters calling for a ceasefire between the two groups also shut down San Francisco’s Bay Bridge on Thursday while President Joe Biden was visiting the city for a meeting with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.
