Two advisers for the main super PAC supporting Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) presidential bid reportedly almost came to blows during a strategy meeting last week as the Florida governor tries to counter former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s rise in the polls.
The leadership of the Never Back Down super PAC gathered last Tuesday to chart a path forward as Haley gains momentum in early voting states. The meeting apparently went so poorly, however, that two attendees had to be restrained from fighting, according to NBC News.

“You have a stick up your ass, Scott,” Jeff Roe, the top consultant for the super PAC, was quoted telling longtime DeSantis confidant Scott Wagner, who sits on the PAC’s board.
“Why don’t you come over here and get it?” Wagner replied, standing up from his chair. Two of Wagner’s fellow board members then stood up to restrain him.

The incident, which representatives for the campaign and super PAC declined to comment on, occurred amid rising tensions over the Florida governor’s fledgling campaign, which has struggled to gain traction amid former President Donald Trump’s continued dominance of the field and Haley’s recent polling surge.
While DeSantis has held on to the second-place spot in Iowa, Haley has moved ahead of him in New Hampshire and South Carolina. Trump, meanwhile, maintains a steady lead over the entire field.
