A man who briefly transitioned before reversing the decision has made claims about being “brainwashed” by “gender ideology.”
The 32-year-old man, known as Shape Shifter, detailed his “detransitioning” in a shocking YouTube video. The clip, titled “I am detransitioning. [Male to Female to Non-Binary]. No more lies and fairy tales,” received over 50,000 views with 3,000 likes.
“I am embracing the fact that I am a man who got brainwashed by gender ideology that I was in a ‘wrong’ body and I needed to alter my body to be my ‘authentic’ self,” Shape Shifter commented after uploading his first video. “My body was perfect as is. I should have never messed with my original blueprint.”

The surgeries that helped him transition came at the cost of his physical and mental health, according to Shape Shifter. While he has two master’s degrees from American universities and is a CPA, he also claimed his transition negatively affected his career. He was 24 years old at the time of the transition and has been living as a woman for seven years. It took only 12 visits with therapists, whom Shape Shifter claims let him down, to give him letters of approval to begin his transition into identifying as a woman.
“I miss my penis, and I completely f***ed up,” Shape Shifter said in his first video.
Now, he says, he has a one-inch vagina as a result of penile inversion surgery. He continues to have breasts and long hair and wears makeup.
“Obviously, I still like wear makeup and stuff, but makeup and hair does not make a woman,” Shape Shifter said.
The YouTuber is of Middle Eastern origin and claimed the homophobia in his family culture caused him to believe his life would be better as a woman, on account of his attraction to men. While he never knew any transgender people in his home country, it was when he began pursuing a master’s degree at a university in Massachusetts that he learned about transgender people and considered transitioning himself.

“I’ve been so delusional for all these years, and I just wish my family and friends weren’t so supportive of my decision,” Shape Shifter said. “I wish they sat me down and talked to me and said, like, ‘Are you sure this is what you want to do? Maybe you’ll grow out of this.’
“All the things that I say are not going to be perceived well by the trans community, but I don’t care.”
Shape Shifter did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
