The Justice Department filed a motion on Friday seeking a protective order against former President Donald Trump that would prohibit Trump from sharing classified material obtained by his lawyers in his classified documents case.

The protective order would mandate that Trump can only review the 31 documents that federal prosecutors are using in the case while in the presence of his attorneys, according to the Hill. The request will be reviewed by Judge Bruce Reinhart.

“Defendants shall only have access to Discovery Materials under the direct supervision of Defense Counsel or a member of Defense Counsel’s staff,” the Department of Justice said in the filing.

“Defendants shall not retain copies of Discovery Material. Defendants may take notes regarding Discovery Materials, but such notes shall be stored securely by Defense Counsel.”

The language used in the court filing was similar to the language used in the former president’s hush money case in New York, which barred him from sharing evidence in the case. Trump was indicted on 34 counts in Manhattan earlier this year for his role in an alleged hush money payment given to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

Trump was indicted again last week by a Florida grand jury for allegedly mishandling classified documents after he left the Oval Office. He faces 37 charges, including 31 counts for the willful retention of national defense information, which violates the Espionage Act.

“The Discovery Materials, along with any information derived therefrom, shall not be disclosed to the public or the news media, or disseminated on any news or social media platform, without prior notice to and consent of the United States or approval of the Court,” the department wrote.

The former president has pleaded “not guilty” to all charges in both cases. Trump also recently lost a defamation and sexual assault lawsuit filed by E. Jean Carroll. He has been ordered to pay Carroll $5 million in damages.
