Former President Donald Trump complained on Saturday about his federal indictment taking place the same day that House Republicans secured access to a FBI document alleging President Joe Biden’s involvement in a “criminal bribery scheme.”

“It’s no coincidence they indicted me the very same day it was revealed that the FBI had explosive evidence that Joe Biden took a $5 billion illegal bribe from Ukraine,” Trump said Saturday from the North Carolina Republican Party Convention. “I haven’t read anything about it. This would have been the biggest story in history.”

DONALD TRUMP INDICTED: CHARGES UNSEALED IN CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS CASE AGAINST EX-PRESIDENT

Trump spoke earlier in the day at the Georgia GOP Convention, where he dismissed his Thursday indictment as a “travesty of justice,” before accusing President Joe Biden of attempting “to jail his leading political opponent.”

“We now have two standards of justice in this country,” Trump told the crowd. “The Democrat communists want to jail their opponents while they protect the murderers who prowl our cities day and night, and other brazen criminals.”

The 45th president was indicted Thursday in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into his alleged mishandling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate. He faces 37 federal counts that Smith said Friday were related to “felony violations of our national security laws as well as participating in a conspiracy to obstruct justice.”

Trump has maintained his innocence and blasted the charges as politically motivated.

While in North Carolina, the former president also suggested that there are more damaging photographs of Hunter Biden that have not been seen by the public.

He briefly pivoted to the pictures, which have not offered any information regarding the first son’s business dealings, while decrying the “illegal censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop from hell” by the “51 intelligence officials who falsely said it was Russian disinformation.”

“Remember they said that? I said, ‘nobody believes that,'” Trump said. “Who would believe that? You see the pictures, horrible pictures. The real pictures haven’t been exposed yet.”

It is not clear what Trump was referring to. It is not known if there are additional photos of the president’s son. A spokesperson for the former president did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for clarification of his comments. Trump did say at another point during the speech that investigators were “closing in on” the 46th president and his son, though he predicted the younger Biden would escape his legal troubles.

“Hunter will probably be charged with some minor offense, like jaywalking, so that the FBI and the DOJ can pretend that they’re fair,” Trump said. “So while they’re going after me under the Espionage Act, that’s like the creation of missiles in your basement. They get him for nothing.”
