Lawyers for former President Donald Trump proposed a new trial date for the federal election interference case on Thursday, requesting the trial to begin in April 2026, two years after federal prosecutors requested.

Lawyers for former President Donald Trump proposed a new trial date for the federal election interference case on Thursday, requesting the trial to begin in April 2026, two years after federal prosecutors requested.

Judge Tanya Chutkan is expected to set the trial date on Aug. 28. Federal prosecutors requested the trial begins in January.
