Donald Trump Jr. cracked a wide smile when asked about former Vice President Mike Pence’s decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential race.

“Didn’t really know he was running,” Trump told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling amid laughs. “I’m really worried about where his .03% is going to go, Eric, it’s … not going to move the needle much anymore. I’m not too concerned about it.”

Bolling appeared to be holding back laughter himself as the eldest Trump child bashed Pence. The moment underscored the Trump family’s opinion of their patriarch’s former vice president, whose relation with his onetime boss soured in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot.

“As far as I’m concerned, this primary is over,” Trump Jr. concluded.

Donald Trump is far ahead of the field for the 2024 Republican nomination for president, with a RealClearPolitics average lead of 46.5 points. While the outlet did not have Pence at “.03%,” his average sat at just 3.5%.

Questions have turned to which GOP presidential candidates will drop out of the race next. Will it be Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), often seen as in over his head on the national stage; or perhaps former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who has likely most felt Donald Trump’s absence on the first two debate stages?

Donald Trump Jr. has long supported his father politically and attacked his adversaries. He leads The Trump Organization alongside his younger brother, Eric.
