Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson has expressed interest in a presidential run, though he stressed that for now he wishes to focus on fatherhood.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, the wrestler-turned-movie star said he is “humbled” by seeming bipartisan interest in a Rock presidency, though he won’t be taking up the offer anytime soon.

“I’m just really grounded and humbled by the interest on both sides. But the No. 1 job, and my No. 1 title, that I love right now is daddy,” he said in the conversation that aired on Tuesday.

“I have seriously considered it. You have to. When you start looking at some of these polls, and these numbers creep up into the 46%, 50% of the country would vote for me should I run, and I have been — I’ve been really moved by that. I mean, truly, it sat me down.”

Johnson recently told CBS that a presidential run was “off the table.”

Whether or not his new comments mark a change in his thinking, the father of three stressed to Tapper that he likely didn’t have the credentials to become president of the United States.

“I don’t know anything about politics,” he said. “I will say that I — absolutely, I’m a patriot, and I love our country, and I love everybody in it, regardless of color or culture. Don’t care what your bank account says or what kind of car you drive.”

Though Johnson endorsed President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, he considers himself a centrist figure. A 2021 poll from piplsay, surveying 30,138 U.S. citizens, found that 46% of respondents would support Johnson if he ran for the presidency.
