Former President Donald Trump seethed amid the Hunter Biden laptop revelations and lashed out at Big Tech and the Justice Department for engaging in “illegal and sinister” behavior.
Decrying the 2020 election as a “scam and a fraud,” Twitter’s onetime most voracious user leaned on the laptop disclosure as a cudgel to ding the DOJ’s investigations against him for “what virtually every other President has done” and “intimidating Big Tech companies into corrupting the 2020” election.
ELON MUSK DROPS NEW DETAILS ON TWITTER’S SUPPRESSION OF HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP
“The FBI, and others in conjunction with the ‘Justice’ Department, met with Big Tech companies to bend them into saying bad things about ‘Trump’ and Republicans in order to RIG & STEAL the 2020 Presidential Election, which was a Scam and a Fraud,” Trump wrote on his alternative Truth Social platform. “This is big ‘stuff.’ DO SOMETHING as our Country Melts!!!”
Twitter CEO Elon Musk made good on his promise on Friday to divulge additional information about the company’s suppression of the New York Post’s October 2020 Hunter Biden laptop story in which it blocked users from sharing the story and briefly locked the outlet’s Twitter account.
Journalist Matt Taibbi sent a series of tweets detailing internal Twitter communication showcasing how political parties asked the company to review tweets and how workers mulled over the decision to squelch the story.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and others revealed that the FBI approached social media platforms ahead of the 2020 election warning that Russia was likely to engage in a misinformation dump in the home stretch. Taibbi stressed he found no evidence of “government involvement in the laptop story.”
22. Although several sources recalled hearing about a “general” warning from federal law enforcement that summer about possible foreign hacks, there’s no evidence – that I’ve seen – of any government involvement in the laptop story. In fact, that might have been the problem…

“What the FBI did with harassing, cajoling, and intimidating Big Tech companies into corrupting the 2020 Presidential Vote to the side of the Radical Left is no different in meaning than STUFFING THE BALLOT BOXES, only far more sophisticated and impactful,” Trump added.
“This is a major and very serious violation of the law, yet they come after me for what virtually every other President has done, and is allowed to do by law, probably as a means of complicating and covering up their massive Election Crime,” he continued.

Trump had been booted from Twitter during the fallout from the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, but Musk subsequently allowed him back on the platform after his $44 billion takeover that became official in October.
The former president announced his 2024 campaign last month and has so far declined to reignite his Twitter account. Instead, he has stuck to Truth Social. Last month, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced a special counsel would spearhead the DOJ’s investigations pertaining to Trump over the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and handling of classified documents.
