CAMMACK BACKS DESANTIS’S DISNEY FEUD: ‘DISNEY INSERTED THEMSELVES INTO THIS FIGHT’

“The Onion has become jarringly unfunny,” Musk wrote on social media. “At the heart of humor is a revealed truth, but woke is a lie, so it is humorless.”

The growing feud between DeSantis and Disney reached new ground when the company sued the Florida governor on Wednesday, with Disney alleging in its lawsuit that DeSantis and other state officials pursued a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power against Disney in retaliation for expressing a political viewpoint unpopular with certain State officials.”

The feud between the company and DeSantis began in March 2022 after the governor signed the Parental Rights in Education bill into law, which prevented kindergarten through third-grade students from learning about sexual orientation and gender identity. It also forbids schools from withholding information from parents about students’ health and well-being.

In response to the passage of the bill, Disney issued a statement that it wanted the bill “repealed” or “struck down in the courts,” leading to a continual battle between the company and DeSantis.

On Friday, Judge Martin Fitzpatrick recused himself from the Disney v. DeSantis lawsuit and requested for it to be reassigned. Fitzpatrick revealed he had a financial interest in the outcome of the case because he is related in the “third degree” to someone who is employed by one of the parties.

DeSantis is seen by many to be a strong contender for the GOP’s candidacy in the 2024 presidential election, despite not having announced his candidacy. In November 2022, Musk signaled he would support DeSantis if the governor challenges former President Donald Trump to be the 2024 GOP nominee.

A report published on Wednesday claimed that four GOP operatives stated that DeSantis will launch his 2024 presidential campaign next month. One of the operatives clarified that mid-May would be the launch of an exploratory campaign, followed closely by an announcement.
