Billionaire and X owner Elon Musk announced that swing state residents who are registered to vote will have the chance to receive $1 million from him each day between now and Election Day, marking his latest push for former President Donald Trump.

The giveaway was met with applause by the Pennsylvania audience on Saturday, during which Musk awarded the first giveaway winner with a giant check. Musk explained that in order to be eligible to win, one must be registered to vote and must sign an online petition from the political action committee America, with the petition asking signees to support “free speech and the right to bear arms.”

On the America PAC website, it states that Sunday’s winner will be given to a petition signer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whereas Monday’s winner will be anyone in Pennsylvania as a whole. Beginning Tuesday, the giveaway will expand to anyone living in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, or North Carolina.

“So anyway, you’re welcome,” Musk said in a video shared on X, in which he awarded John Dreher the $1 million. “So the only thing we ask for the million dollars is that you be a spokesperson for the petition, and that’s it, really, that’s it.”

Musk first promoted the America PAC’s petition earlier this month, in which $47 would be given to every referral resulting in a signature. The deadline to refer people to this petition is Monday, the final day for Pennsylvania and Michigan residents to get registered to vote.

The push by Musk in Pennsylvania, where he has been busy stumping for Trump ahead of the election, comes as it is arguably the most sought-after state within the Electoral College. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) warned last month that Trump is “going to be strong” in this state.

Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) has cast doubt over the legality of Musk’s giveaway in Pennsylvania, adding that it is “something that law enforcement could take a look at.” He clarified that while Musk is free to vocalize his support for Trump, the manner of his financial investment into ensuring Trump’s victory “raises serious questions.”

Last week, Trump revealed he would want to give Musk an unofficial role in a hypothetical second Trump presidency, giving the billionaire the position of “Secretary of Cost Cutting” in the U.S. government. Musk told the Washington Examiner that “the destiny of civilization, of America, the Western civilization” is on the line with this presidential election.
