Eminem told Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to stop losing himself in the rapper’s music while campaigning this 2024 election cycle. The musician’s licenser, BMI, contacted the GOP hopeful, warning him to stop rapping the lyrics during his bid for president.
The former biotech entrepreneur notably rapped “Lose Yourself” while at the Iowa State Fair in August and was given a cease-and-desist letter from both the rapper’s management and BMI on Aug. 23.

Before the Republican presidential candidate was a wealthy biotech businessman, he performed as a rap artist while at Harvard University undergrad. His stage name was “Da Vek.” The song “Lose Yourself” came out in 2002, just a year before Ramaswamy started attending Harvard.
