Utah will send out the third and final round of August payments through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in three days.
The Beehive State sends out food stamps on three separate days: The 5th, 11th, and 15th of each month. Recipients commonly see their payments reloaded on the same day each month, depending on the first letter of the SNAP-participating household’s last name.

The amount of monthly benefits Utah SNAP households receive is based on several factors, including income, the number of people in the household, and additional assets.
The maximum SNAP benefit for a household of one is $281, and for a household of three, the maximum increases to $740. The maximum amount listed is $1,691 for a household of eight. An additional $211 is included in the SNAP payment for households with over eight members.
Utah households must be at or below the gross income limit, which is 130% of the federal poverty level. For a household of one, the gross monthly income limit is $1,473. For three, the income limit is $2,495, and for a household of six, the limit is $4,029.

SNAP benefits are loaded on an electronic benefit transfer card, which works similarly to a debit card, to purchase eligible food items. Households can buy bread, fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and poultry, seeds, plants to grow food, and dairy items. Alcohol, pet food, and cleaning supplies are excluded from the program.
Approximately 156,300 people, or 5% of the population, receive SNAP benefits in Utah. Those who have applied for SNAP or are currently receiving benefits can manage their benefits or obtain more information through the online portal myCase.
