Florida households that receive assistance from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will see payments over the next nine days before the program wraps up for October.
SNAP benefits are issued to beneficiaries in the Sunshine State from the first to the 28th of every month, and recipients will usually obtain their funds on the same day each month. The exact day food stamps are issued is dependent on the particular digits on an applicant’s case number.

For example, beneficiaries whose digits are 00 to 03 will see their SNAP benefits on the first of the month. Those with digits 04 to 06 get their benefits on the second of the month, those with digits 93 to 95 get their payments on the 27th, and those with digits 96 to 99 get their money on the 28th.
Per updated federal guidelines, Florida recipients may see an increase in SNAP benefits starting in October. The maximum payment is $291 for a household of one, $973 for a household of four, and $1,751 for a household of eight. Up to $219 is added to a household’s food stamps for each member after eight.

Food stamps in Florida are issued on an electronic benefits transfer card, which can be used at participating grocery and convenience stores to purchase meat, poultry and fish products, dairy items, breads and cereals, and other eligible groceries. SNAP cannot be used to purchase items such as pet food, alcohol, and household items, including paper products and soaps.
Around 2.85 million people, or 13% of Florida’s population, receive SNAP benefits, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
