A four-vehicle crash involving a Greyhound bus killed three people and injured 14 others in Illinois early Wednesday morning, state police said.


A four-vehicle crash involving a Greyhound bus killed three people and injured 14 others in Illinois early Wednesday morning, state police said.

The Greyhound bus was driving westbound on I-70 with passengers onboard when it hit three commercial vehicles parked on an exit ramp, according to KSDK.

The local outlet said it was told several of the injured had serious injuries, with four of them being transported by helicopter and at least 10 transported by ambulance.

The deadly crash reportedly closed all lanes of westbound Interstate 70 near Highland.

I-70 is a major east-west route through the United States that runs from Utah to Maryland. Highland is located in the west of Illinois and had a population of about 10,000 people in 2020.
