Drag queen Shea Couleé will reportedly star in an upcoming Marvel series on Disney+

The RuPaul’s Drag Race alumnus has landed a role on the series Ironheart, which will premiere in fall 2023.

The reports have not yet been confirmed, and Marvel did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
The drag star also is not yet listed on the streaming platform’s website as a member of the cast. Hamilton’s and In the Heights’s Anthony Ramos and Alden Ehrenreich are also reported to be in the cast.
The main character, Riri Williams, will be played by Dominique Thorne. In the series, she is a “genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.”
“It’s really so humbling to be able to crossover into a much more mainstream avenue, and push the needle forward as far as drag is concerned, in the way that it’s consumed and in pop culture,” the drag queen told E! News. “I’m so deeply excited for everyone to see what this role is, what it entails and everything it is.”
Couleé is reportedly leaving a “trademark stamp” on the character, which remains unknown.
“Everyone at Marvel has been so unbelievably open and receptive to my experiences and my expertise about drag,” Couleé added, “and they’ve allowed me to really come in to the MCU and put my very specific Shea Coulee print on the Marvel Universe.”
