A fire on a highway in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, resulted in an overpass bridge collapse on Sunday.
At around 6:30 a.m., a fuel tanker truck caught fire underneath Interstate 95 on Cottman Avenue. All southbound lanes collapsed at the location of the fire. As a result, the entire highway between the Woodhaven and Aramingo exits was shut down.
“Today’s going to be a long day. Obviously, with 95 northbound gone and southbound questionable, it’s going to be even longer,” Dominick Mireles of the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management said to a local outlet.
