Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) has gone to Israel to help bring home Americans stranded amid the war against the Jewish state.
“We were getting a ton of requests from Americans who were stranded, who had tried to reach out to the State Department, and were getting nowhere,” Mills told The Ingraham Angle, describing how flights had been canceled and hotel availability became nonexistent. “[They] were really kind of off on their own. I just kind of made the decision, you know, that I needed to step up and do something.”

“We talk about the difference between statesmen and politicians: One acts and one talks,” he added.
Mills’s trip comes as a bipartisan group of more than 140 members of the House of Representatives has called on the State Department to use all methods at its disposal, including chartering flights, to rescue American citizens stranded in Israel.
The congressman, who is an Army veteran, explained that many people were unsure of where to go for help or they did not have the ability to maneuver to the recommended sites.
Such a rescue trip is not Mills’s first. The Florida congressman took similar action after the Biden administration withdrew troops from Afghanistan in 2021.
“Unfortunately, this isn’t my first time doing this because my team and I had conducted the first successful overland rescue out of Afghanistan that rescued a mother and three children from Amarillo, Texas,” he said.
“My team and I run the routes prematurely to try and make sure we can run it and see if there’s any safety issues and look at best [evacuation] areas,” he continued. “Doing predominantly ground [evacuations] and getting to bordering countries like Jordan to ensure we can get them back to America.”
When asked how many Americans he thought were in Israel and in need of help, he said there was a “high possibility that there’s large swaths of Americans across the entire country.”
“I put all this 100% on the Biden administration,” Mills said. “Biden released $6 billion, and it’s still fungible and very easily movable income that they have. His oil revenue has gone up to $30 billion, and back when Trump was in office, it was half that.”
“We’re literally funding the very terrorism that’s hitting our allies and endangering Americans,” he continued. “Leaving billions of dollars in Afghanistan that’s now finding its ways into these war zones to be utilized against Americans. The Biden administration, again, weakness invites aggression, and Iran, China, Russia, and North Korea, they are preying upon this weakness in the White House, this weakness in this administration.”
Mills noted that President Joe Biden has prioritized “wokeness as opposed to freedoms and safeties of Americans.”
“I can tell you right now, as an elected official, I’m not going to stand for it, and if I have to come over here and do Biden’s job, then so be it,” he said.

On Wednesday, national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters that Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have discussed “how the United States can deploy expertise to help work on the hostage recovery efforts.” There are roughly 100-150 hostages overall being held by terrorist groups in Gaza, and “20 or more” Americans could be among them, as they are unaccounted for.
Sullivan, however, discounted the idea of American troops being deployed to fight in Israel’s declared war.
