Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) called upon Gov. Greg Abbott to send ‘thousands of illegal immigrants’ to the states of 10 Democratic senators who recently circulated a letter opposing border security negotiations.
“Governor Abbott, if you’re watching Sean Hannity tonight, do me a favor,” Graham said during an appearance on Hannity Wednesday. “Make it real to those 10 senators and their states what you’ve been dealing with in Texas. Instead of sending them all to New York, why don’t you look at the states in question.”
KARI LAKE SAYS BIDEN UNLEASHED BORDER CRISIS ‘INTENTIONALLY TO DESTABILIZE OUR COUNTRY’
Wednesday morning, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship and Border Security Alex Padilla (D-CA) shared a letter on X, formerly Twitter, that was supported by nine other Senate Democrats. It pushed back on the inclusion of border security measures within aid packages for Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, and the Indo-Pacific region.
“As negotiations surrounding the supplemental aid package progress, we are concerned about reports of harmful changes to our asylum system that will potentially deny lifesaving humanitarian protection for vulnerable people, including children, and fail to deliver any meaningful improvement to the situation at the border,” the letter stated. “Using a one-time spending package to enact these unrelated permanent policy changes sets a dangerous precedent and risks assistance to our international partners.”
Congress must urgently work to pass much needed assistance for our allies abroad. We cannot, however, do so at the expense of our values.

In response, Graham firmly told Hannity that he was “not going to give money to foreign countries until we secure our own border.”
“Governor Abbott, make it real to these 10 senators what it’s like to live with a broken border. Send thousands of illegal immigrants to make it real to the politicians who oppose border security,” Graham said.
“The Democratic position is remain in Texas. They are okay with Texas being overrun,” he continued. “Governor Abbott sent busloads of illegal immigrants to these senators so they will understand what it’s like to live with a broken border.”
