Great American Family has issued a call to its fans and social media users to contact Google and YouTube, specifically to request both media giants to pick up its movies and content on YouTube TV.
The network specializing in faith-based programming is available on Cox, Hulu, and DirecTV streams, but has notably been unavailable to users on YouTube TV, which surpassed eight million subscribers last year. On Friday, Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr issued a letter to Alphabet Inc. CEO Sundar Pichai and YouTube CEO Neil Mohan asking them to brief the FCC to find out if YouTube TV implements “a policy or practice that favors discrimination against faith-based channels.”
I have received complaints that Google’s @YouTubeTV is discriminating against faith-based programming.
These concerning allegations come at a time when American public discourse has experienced an unprecedented—and unacceptable—surge in censorship.

Carr’s deadline for both CEOs to contact his office to set up a briefing was Tuesday. Great American Media confirmed to the Washington Examiner that it has yet to hear back from Google on including its content on YouTube TV.
“Right now, our goal is to continue to bring attention to the issue,” a Great American Media spokesperson stated.
Great American Media CEO Bill Abbott told the Washington Examiner in November how he and his company have offered “every conceivable way” to put the company’s content on YouTube TV, but the channel has yet to take any action to accept Abbott’s offer. He added that YouTube TV can carry Great American Family’s content “at any point of time for free” to the channel.
“We’re hopeful that they recognize the value of the audience and the strength and quality of content and the premise of being on the pillars of family, faith, and country, but we don’t know where that will go.”
Carr revealed in his letter that Great American Media informed him of its fight to get its content on YouTube TV. The platform’s refusal to carry Great American Family content comes even though the latter is the second-fastest growing channel in cable television.
Is anyone surprised that Google is discriminating against Christian faith based programming? https://t.co/fyjkkiU5DC
