House Republicans will have a member-only policy meeting on Thursday focused on the investigations and oversight efforts by House committees.
The policy meeting will have briefing and updates from Chairmen James Comer (R-KY) of Oversight, Mark Green (R-TN) of Homeland Security, Jim Jordan (R-OH) of Judiciary, and Jason Smith (R-MO) of Ways and Means, according to an email obtained by the Washington Examiner.

The chairman will be talking to their fellow House Republicans about the investigations their committees are conducting concerning the Biden administration.
For Smith, Comer, and Jordan, that is the investigation into different areas of Hunter Biden’s criminal case and alleged misconduct on behalf of the Department of Justice.
Following whistleblower testimony from two IRS employees that alleged the Department of Justice interfered with U.S. Attorney David Weiss’ criminal investigation into Hunter Biden, Smith, Comer, and Jordan’s committees have begun to work together to investigate the misconduct during the investigation.
The whistleblowers claimed Weiss was blocked from bringing charges in the jurisdiction of his choice, his request for special counsel status was denied, and the DOJ “concealed” foreign bribery allegations involving Hunter Biden and then-Vice President Joe Biden from the IRS and FBI investigators.
Comer’s Oversight Committee has been looking into an unverified FBI-generated FD-1023 that alleged Hunter Biden and then Vice-President Joe Biden were each paid $5 million by the head of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company where Hunter Biden was a board member. The payments were allegedly for the Bidens to put pressure on the Ukrainian government to fire Viktor Shokin, a prosecutor allegedly investigating Burisma.
The three committees requested transcribed interviews from more than 13 people: Jordan’s committee requested 11 DOJ employees involved in the Hunter Biden investigation sit for transcribed interviews, Smith’s committee has requested two IRS employees sit for transcribed interviews, and the Oversight committee has requested that an unspecified number of US Secret Service Agents sit for transcribed interviews. All of these have to do with the whistleblower testimony about the Hunter Biden investigation.
Green’s Homeland Security Committee has been probing Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas’ handling of the southern border.

The briefing from the four chairmen comes amid immense pressure from members of the conference to impeach Mayorkas and Attorney General Merrick Garland. While impeachment is unlikely to happen soon, the inquiries into the two Biden appointees have ramped up in recent weeks.
The policy meeting is set for 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.
