The Houston Texans have settled with 30 women accusing the team’s former quarterback Deshaun Watson of sexual misconduct.

All 30 of the women have either made claims or intended to make claims against the Texans organization for its role in the allegations against Watson.

DESHAUN WATSON SETTLES ALL BUT FOUR OF 24 SEXUAL MISCONDUCT LAWSUITS AGAINST HIM

The attorney representing the women, Tony Buzbee, released a statement about the settlement Friday that addressed the settlement and contrasted the Texans’ handling of the accusations and Watson’s. The Texans traded Watson to the Cleveland Browns earlier this year.

“I will have no further comment on the allegations or the Texans’ alleged role, other than to say that there is a marked contrast in the way in which the Texans addressed these allegations, and the way in which Watson’s team has done so,” Buzbee said. “As has been previously reported, only one of the thirty women who made allegations against the Texans filed a formal lawsuit. That particular lawsuit will be dismissed with prejudice as soon as the appropriate settlement paperwork is complete.”

The financial terms of the agreement will remain confidential, according to Buzbee.

The lone lawsuit that included the Texans said the organization was aware of Watson’s alleged behavior during the massage sessions in which the alleged sexual misconduct occurred.

The owners of the Texans, Janice McNair, Hannah McNair, and Cal McNair, released a joint statement discussing the settlement Friday.

“Although our organization did not have any knowledge of Deshaun Watson’s alleged misconduct, we have intentionally chosen to resolve this matter amicably,” the statement says. “This is not an admission of any wrongdoing, but instead a clear stand against any form of sexual assault or misconduct.”
