Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is scheduled to answer questions under oath at a hearing in the legal battle between Elon Musk and Twitter.
Dorsey will appear in court Tuesday via Zoom, where he will answer questions from Musk’s and Twitter’s attorneys, according to Bloomberg. The former CEO was subpoenaed to answer questions about the daily number of active users and bots on Twitter, key points of contention in Musk’s efforts to cancel his $44 billion purchase of the platform.

Dorsey’s appearance in court comes a week after a majority of Twitter shareholders voted to approve the purchase that Musk had signed. The vote means that Twitter has permission to go forward with the initial acquisition plans, assuming it can successfully force Musk to uphold his deal in the upcoming October trial regarding the agreement.
Musk’s and Twitter’s legal teams have been meeting regularly to argue over whether Musk’s termination of the agreement was justified. Musk’s lawyers have argued consistently that the company was deceptive about the number of bots on the platform, while Twitter has claimed that Musk’s termination was due to him getting cold feet over the deal after seeing his Tesla stock drop in value.

Musk has since filed two additional attempts at terminating the deal, with each referencing Twitter whistleblower Peiter Zatko’s allegations about the company’s security practices.
