Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) visited the United States southern border to witness first-hand the overwhelming number of migrants crossing, calling it “absolute insanity.”

“This is a potential public health disaster for us right now,” Jackson told the Ingraham Angle. “We have 300 people a day that are dying from the fentanyl crisis. There’s a whole bunch of people that are crossing the border that have active tuberculosis. That’s an absolute disaster for this country — a public health disaster.”

“I can’t explain it to people, People are complaining to me that they can’t even go to their local hospital because the hospitals are overwhelmed with migrants that are there,” he added. “It’s crazy. It’s absolutely insanity down here.”

Jackson also noted concerns of crime and national security.

“We’ve got people coming from 120 different countries from Yemen, and Syria, and Iraq, and Afghanistan, and all the places that want to do us harm. Hundreds of people on the terror watch list,” he said, noting that Border Patrol releases migrants who are suspected to be criminals but lack evidence with no information from their home countries.

Jackson warned that five years from now that the country could be overrun by the cartel.

“Our priorities couldn’t be more screwed up,” he said, referring to the funding of the war in Ukraine instead of tending to the border crisis. “This is a Biden engineered disaster. This is purposeful.”

The total number of August’s immigrant encounters surpassed the previous record of 302,412 set in December 2022; it is also between five and 10 times higher than the average monthly totals seen during the Obama and Trump administrations.
