Freshman Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) dug into Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) personal life on Tuesday, commenting on her divorce last year when asked about the Republican’s suggestion that states should secede from the union.

“Look, her husband called for a secession, which is why, you know, she had that in her personal life,” Moskowitz told MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas on Tuesday.

Earlier this year, Greene suggested a “national divorce” and separating red and blue states, citing the “sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats” and “Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies” in a February social media post.

“Remember, she called for a national divorce again, you know, divorce,” Moskowitz said, referring to Greene’s split from her husband last year, who filed for divorce in September 2022 after 27 years of marriage. The Republican congresswoman finalized her divorce settlement with Perry Greene in December 2022.

Citing President Joe Biden’s border policies, Marjorie Taylor Greene said states “should consider” seceding from the union, sparking outrage with her post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that came on the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“From Texas to New York City to every town in America, we are drowning from Biden’s traitorous America last border policies,” Marjorie Taylor Greene said.

Moskowitz said the comments were on brand for the Georgia representative.

“Remember she was being looked at as someone who was trying to work with Kevin McCarthy, maybe going a little bit more mainstream,” Moskowitz said. “But now this, this seems to be vintage, vintage Marjorie. It’s good to see her back, isn’t it?”
