Judge Tanya Chutkan, who was assigned to former President Donald Trump’s Jan. 6 case, has received increased security.

CNN noted increased security with the judge, and U.S. marshals reportedly briefed her about the increased security on Monday. The move came days after Trump called for Chutkan to recuse herself and alleged bias.

“THERE IS NO WAY I CAN GET A FAIR TRIAL WITH THE JUDGE ‘ASSIGNED’ TO THE RIDICULOUS FREEDOM OF SPEECH/FAIR ELECTIONS CASE. EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS, AND SO DOES SHE!” the former president wrote on Truth Social.

“WE WILL BE IMMEDIATELY ASKING FOR RECUSAL OF THIS JUDGE ON VERY POWERFUL GROUNDS, AND LIKEWISE FOR VENUE CHANGE, OUT [of] D.C.,” he added.

Special counsel Jack Smith asked for a protective order, limiting what Trump can share publicly, pointing to a social media post that they alleged disrupted and possibly threatened figures involved in the case.

“All the proposed order seeks to prevent is the improper dissemination or use of discovery materials, including to the public,” prosecutors wrote in the protective order request, the Independent reported. “Such a restriction is particularly important in this case because the defendant has previously issued public statements on social media regarding witnesses, judges, attorneys, and others associated with legal matters pending against him.”

Prosecutors also flagged another post by Trump, which they claimed was threatening in nature, in which he wrote, “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!”

The first hearing in the case is slated for Aug. 28.
