Republican Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake warned Sunday of “fighting-aged men” who are illegally crossing the border between Arizona and Mexico, which she called a “Bidenvasion.”
Lake, a former Arizona gubernatorial candidate, stated that Arizona has “the worst border” in the United States, noting that only a few years ago, the state’s illegal crossing were nowhere near as high when former President Donald Trump was president. She also stated that while some of the crossings are made by families, a majority of the crossings, 71%, are made by adults.

“We are watching as we’re being invaded, and we’re seeing a foreign army, basically, pour across our border,” Lake said on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. “We talk a lot about Biden-flation, we have a Bidenvasion happening on the border in Arizona, and it seems like we’re not getting any attention from the White House, from D.C. We need to get this border wall completed.”
Lake went on to detail how the rampant illegal crossings have impacted a small town called Sasabe, which is located on the Arizona and Mexico border. It used to have a population of 2,000, but now there are only 15 families living in the town, which is “in cartel control.”
The Senate candidate warned that Arizona would be “forever changed” if action against illegal crossings in the state is not taken, adding that the U.S. needs to treat the cartels “like the terrorist organizations that they are.”

Lake is running in next year’s Senate race, with Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) also running for the seat currently held by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ). Last month, data compiled by the Lake campaign showed Trump leading President Joe Biden in Arizona, with the former president garnering a polling average of 46% compared to Biden’s 42%; the data was seen as a good indication by Lake’s campaign.
It is still unclear if Sinema, who left the Democratic party last December, will seek reelection as an Independent. Many political operatives in the state say they are clueless about her plans.
