Tucker Carlson held an interview with actor Kevin Spacey on his show Christmas Eve, with Spacey playing his House of Cards role President Frank Underwood throughout the segment.
Carlson, who parted ways with Fox News earlier this year and has since started his own show on social media, started his episode by asking viewers if it was too late for another candidate to join the 2024 presidential race, to which he then asked the question to his guest, Spacey. The actor was never addressed by name throughout the interview, but was implied to be playing his character from the Netflix television show House of Cards.

“But I’ve always believed that nothing should be off the table or in art,” Spacey said. “I think we could both agree that we need to get some adults back in the room, so if that means taking on the chief executive role, well, that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for this great nation.”
Spacey went on to say he had “a long and very solid relationship with the public,” adding that his bond with the public has “never been broken.” It comes after Spacey was fired from his leading role in House of Cards in 2017 following accusations of sexual assault from anonymous men in their 30s and 40s.
It is not the first time Spacey has reprised his role of President Underwood, as he has uploaded several Christmas “messages” from Underwood via his YouTube channel. Spacey’s interview with Carlson was also uploaded to his channel, with the interview titled “Being Frank with Tucker.”

In July, Spacey was found not guilty of nine counts of sexual assault by a jury in the United Kingdom. The decision came less than a year after the actor was found not liable by a Manhattan jury for a battery claim brought against him by actor Anthony Rapp in a sexual abuse case.
In the wake of the 2017 accusations against Spacey, he was fired from House of Cards, with his character killed off in the show. The actor was also edited out of the film All the Money in the World, which was released the same year.
