A homeowner in Los Angeles opened fire on a pair on Saturday after the two hopped a wall at his home.

The shootout occurred late in the evening when the homeowner was coming home through his gated driveway, according to a report.

After pulling in to his residence, at least two masked people hopped over the wall.

One of the armed people charged the homeowner while he approached his door, and a struggle ensued, the report noted.

The homeowner acted quickly, dropping his keys and his beverage, and he drew his concealed firearm and began to shoot at the pair, according to the report.

Firing while fleeing, the pair ran away before authorities were able to respond to the scene, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.

No injuries resulting from the altercation were confirmed, but the homeowner said his wife, a nanny, and his 5-month-old infant were inside the home.
