Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has lost several major donors to her primary challenger, Grand Junction, Colorado, attorney Jeff Hurd.

Boebert faced one of the closest general elections of the 2022 midterm elections, winning by just a few hundred votes. She may face an even tougher primary, with Newsweek finding that at least 10 donors who previously gave her campaign $13,000 have defected to Hurd. Those 10 have upped their donations to Boebert’s rival, contributing nearly $17,800 collectively to the Colorado attorney.

Despite this, Boebert’s campaign dismissed concerns, saying that her grassroots backers would ensure an easy victory.

“Congresswoman Boebert is continuing to expand her base of grassroots donors across the 3rd District and nationally while putting up a top-10 Q3 performance for battleground district Republicans across the country,” Boebert’s campaign manager, Drew Sexton, told Newsweek. “We look forward to uniting the entire Republican Party after winning the primary in June.”

The Colorado Republican is facing a rematch from 2022 competitor Adam Frisch, who triggered an automatic recount with how close he came to unseating her.
