Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is planning to introduce a resolution designating antifa as a terrorist organization.
The congresswoman blamed the group for the disruption at an Atlanta police training facility under construction that was reportedly targeted by Molotov cocktails on Sunday. Greene has long lambasted the left-wing “anti-fascist” movement, which has been responsible for numerous violent demonstrations over recent years.

“Antifa are domestic terrorists and I’m introducing my resolution to officially declare them a terrorist organization on Tuesday,” Greene tweeted on Sunday.

It is not immediately clear what evidence Greene has to suggest that antifa was responsible for the violent attack. The Washington Examiner has reached out to Greene for comment.
Her tweet included a clip from a FOX 5 Atlanta reporter showing footage of the training facility engulfed in a fire allegedly caused by protesters. A group dubbed “Stop Cop City” has been demonstrating against the construction of the new police training facility since the project was authorized in 2021.
Dozens were arrested in a clash between demonstrators in law enforcement, and the facility was placed on lockdown, Fox 5 reported.
“This is domestic terrorism. It was planned for weeks and announced on social media. Antifa are self proclaimed communists and consistently organize to attack our government over and over again. They should be taken seriously and not tolerated anymore,” Greene tweeted.

The city council greenlit $90 million in spending on the facility two years ago. So far, at least 19 people have been charged with domestic terrorism in connection with protests over the facility since December, Fox News reported.

Earlier this year, Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA) declared a state of emergency over upheaval that flared up in Atlanta following the police shooting of an activist when officers were clearing the construction site.
Other members of Greene’s party, such as Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), have floated similar resolutions to declare antifa a terrorist organization.
