U.S. District Judge Steve Jones found that Meadows had exceeded his role as former President Donald Trump‘s chief of staff by working directly with his campaign, holding that he failed to meet the “quite low” standard for removal, according to his 49-page opinion.
Meadows and his 18-co-defendants, including Trump, are charged with racketeering alongside other allegations in connection to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia.
