Michelle Obama tries pre-emptive leaking
Axios’ Alex Thompson dropped a bombshell into the 2024 Presidential Election on the morning of the debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump that Michelle Obama won’t campaign for Joe Biden because of how the Biden family treated her friend Kathleen Buhle, who Hunter Biden was married to and then left because of his affair with his brother Beau’s widow, Hallie.
“Michelle Obama has privately expressed frustration over the Biden family largely exiling her close friend Kathleen Buhle after Buhle’s messy divorce from Hunter Biden,” Thompson wrote.
Thompson wrote that Obama once attended a fundraiser in the fall of 2017 in Wilmington for the Beau Biden Foundation, a children’s advocacy group.
Hunter Biden was at the event with Hallie after his divorce from Kathleen.
Obama thought it was weird how the Biden family treated it as normal that Hunter Biden shacked up with his brother’s widow.
“After the event, the former president privately described the Biden family dynamics there as ‘weird s***,’ a person familiar with his remarks told Axios,” Thompson also wrote.
This didn’t sit well with Michelle Obama at all.
“Michelle Obama, who had become friends with Buhle during the Obama administration, privately told others that she felt Buhle had been wronged,” Thompson wrote.
The Biden’s exile Kathleen Buhle
Kathleen Buhle found herself on the outs with the Bidens as the family blamed her for the messy details of Hunter Biden’s lavish spending on drugs and prostitutes going public.
Buhle included stories of Hunter Biden’s addiction to drugs and paying money for prostitutes as part of her divorce filings when Hunter left her for his brother’s widow.
“His spending rarely relates to legitimate family expenses, but focuses on his own travel (at times multiple hotel rooms on the same night), gifts for other women, alcohol, strip clubs, or other personal indulgences,” the divorce filing read.
“Throughout the parties’ separation Mr. Biden has created financial concerns for the family by spending extravagantly on his own interests (including drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, strip clubs, and gifts for women with whom he has sexual relations), while leaving the family with no funds to pay legitimate bills,” the filing added.
Michelle Obama’s leak about why she won’t help Joe Biden comes on the heels of Obama leaking to New York Magazine that his concerns about Biden have nothing to do with age and that he just thinks Biden is facing a tough opponent and environment.
Taken together, both leaks are the Obamas sending the message to the Democrat Party that any defeat in November isn’t their fault.
Barack Obama wants Democrats to know he’s not undermining Biden by kvetching about his senility.
And Michelle Obama’s putting it out there that she won’t campaign for Joe Biden because they wronged her friend to circle the wagons around Hunter Biden.
