A teenage girl who was missing for 10 days has been found, Colorado authorities announced Monday.
Chloe Campbell, 14, was found in a residence in Thornton, Colorado, at approximately 5 p.m. by the Boulder Police Department, according to a news release from the city of Boulder. While she has no noticeable injuries, she has been brought to a hospital for medical evaluation, and her parents have been notified, Boulder police said in a press conference.
“We are incredibly grateful for the partnership of state and federal agencies, who, through a variety of investigative efforts, helped our detectives bring Chloe home. We are also appreciative of the outpouring of community and media interest in this case,” said Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold.

Police were first alerted to Campbell’s disappearance on Oct. 1 when her family informed them that she did not return home from a Boulder High School football game the previous day, Deputy Chief Stephen Redfearn said during the news conference. Investigators worked with state and federal agencies and neighboring local jurisdictions, such as the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, during the 10 days Campbell was missing, according to police.
Investigators believe that Campbell had run away from home and that she was not being held against her will. However, there are indications that Campbell had taken steps to avoid contact with both her family and law enforcement, Redfearn stated.
An Amber Alert was not issued in this case. It is used in cases of suspected abductions, and police had no indication that had happened to Campbell, Redfearn said. If Campbell had not been found before the end of Monday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation would have issued a missing and endangered person alert, according to law enforcement.
