Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) blasted President Joe Biden late Tuesday night, responding to an incident at a Colorado school in which a student was removed from class for displaying the “Don’t Tread on Me,” or Gadsden, flag on his backpack.

A video from the Colorado Parent Advocacy Network showed a parent arguing with a teacher over the school’s decision to remove her son from class. The teacher said the school district’s policy did not allow the flag to be displayed as it represented “slavery and slave trade.” The parent argued the flag was flown during the Revolutionary War.

“The Gadsden flag is a symbol of freedom against a tyrannical government. It was used to represent unity against an oppressive ruler during the Revolutionary War … similar to the Biden regime. #LiveFreeOrDie,” Greene posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The teacher said in the video the backpack with the Gadsden flag couldn’t be “in and around other kids,” to which the parent replied, “Maybe you’re thinking of the Confederate flag?”

Greene and Biden have engaged in several social media spats in recent months. She has also called on Congress to begin the process of impeaching “criminal in chief” Biden, saying there is a “mountain of evidence” to support its efforts.

Republicans have been holding several investigations into the Biden administration and the president’s family, looking for evidence of an “alleged criminal scheme” in which Biden family members allegedly took in millions from foreign entities.

Greene has also criticized Biden’s policies regarding the southern border and the economy. An avid supporter of former President Donald Trump, she has floated possibly running for a Senate seat or becoming Trump’s vice president if he wins in 2024.
