Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) plans to reintroduce her resolution to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) after it failed earlier this week; however, she will change the wording in hopes of garnering more support.
The original resolution accused Tlaib of displaying “antisemitic activity” and “leading an insurrection” at the United States Capitol, referring to a demonstration when pro-Palestinian protesters rallied outside members’ offices to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. More than 100 of the protesters were arrested, with a handful being charged with assaulting police officers, according to the U.S. Capitol Police.

But many members took issue with her use of the word “insurrection” in the resolution, and ultimately, 23 Republicans voted to table Greene’s resolution on Wednesday.
I’m reintroducing my censure resolution against Terrorist Tlaib.
I am removing “insurrection” and replacing it with “illegal occupation” on Oct 18th that broke the same federal laws as Jan 6 and led to hundreds of arrest and assault on Cap Police.

So now, she will replace “insurrection” with “illegal occupation” in hopes of garnering more support for the resolution, she said on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter.
“Hopefully, the 23 Republicans who voted no to censure Pro-terrorists Pro-Hamas Anti-Israel anti-Semitic Rashida Tlaib will use their freedom of speech in congress to censure (condemn) Terrorist Tlaib’s speech, lies, and actions that incited an illegal occupation on Oct 18th,” Greene said in the post.
She will introduce the resolution as a privileged resolution, a spokesperson for Greene confirmed. This would mean that from the time she introduces it, House Leadership will have two legislative days to bring it to the floor.
Tlaib has come under more fire recently after she posted a video on X accusing President Joe Biden of supporting the genocide of Palestinians.

“Mr. President, the American people are not with you on this one,” Tlaib says in the video. “We will remember in 2024.”
Following her talking, the screen cuts to white lettering that reads: “Joe Biden supported the genocide of the Palestinian people. The American people won’t forget. Biden, support a cease-fire now. Or don’t count on us in 2024.”
