Elon Musk offered legal aid for users on X, formerly known as Twitter, who were treated unfairly by employers as a result of their posts.
“If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill,” Musk posted on Saturday. “No limit. Please let us know.”

Users flocked to the post to respond in the tens of thousands to share their stories of workplace discrimination as a result of their X posts. Many posted about former President Donald Trump, who was removed from the platform over his posts and accused of inciting the Jan. 6 riot online.
“YUGE! Elon is a true free speech warrior,” Chaya Raichik, owner of the Libs of TikTok account responded to the news. Raichik would go on to tag X users who had been fired for following her conservative account.
“This is not right. If anyone should be getting justice and compensation for legal fees from Twitter, it’s me and Donald Trump,” former congressional candidate Laura Loomer wrote in a post. “How quickly everyone wants to forget what Twitter did to me for 5 YEARS. Smeared me. Unverified me. Banned me. Targeted me. Illegally interfered in both of my elections. Told other companies to ban me.”
Really interesting how he says this now…
I’m old enough to remember when Elon told me Twitter didn’t have enough money to settle with me.
Now they have money to pay everyone’s legal fees except mine? When @elonmusk’s own lawyers admitted to me that Twitter created policies… https://t.co/ElNaEtWWWZ pic.twitter.com/Oy1A2ZGr2h

This announcement comes after Musk threatened to sue The Center for Countering Digital Hate, which researches misinformation on social media, alleging that it had lied about X and the hateful speech on the platform.

Meanwhile, former X employees filed a class action lawsuit against the business in mid-July, alleging that Musk violated the company’s previous severance plan. X’s finance chief filed a similar suit in June, alleging the company did not pay “tens of millions of dollars” in promised bonus payments.
Musk revealed last month that X had received a new monthly high of users at over 541,000,000. It was ranked the fastest-loading social media site by web design company DigitalSilk.com.
