Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley released a New Hampshire campaign ad featuring praise from Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH).

Though still far behind former President Donald Trump in national polls, Haley is polling high in New Hampshire, which is known for its centrist Republican Party. Though still far behind Trump in the state, she is leaning on support from Sununu, the centrist Republican governor, to help her make up the difference.

“She’s a leader who builds people up. She’s a ‘Live Free Or Die’ Republican who understands fiscal responsibility and individual liberty,” Sununu says in the ad. “She’s a new generation of conservative leadership who can help leave behind the chaos and the drama of the past.”

The New Hampshire governor garnered national headlines for his outspoken opposition to Trump and flirted with a Republican presidential run before ultimately ruling it out. He is now throwing his support behind Haley, seeing her as the best alternative to Trump.

“[Sununu’s] endorsement is the latest evidence of Nikki’s growing momentum,” Haley campaign spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas told the Hill in a statement. “With just 28 days until the New Hampshire primary, Nikki Haley is ready to bring ‘Live Free or Die’ to the White House.”

The New Hampshire Republican presidential primary will be held on Jan. 23 and will be one of the first in the country.
