The suspect in a shooting at a Lunar New Year celebration in Monterey Park, California is still at-large, Los Angeles County police announced Sunday.
The shooting, which killed 10 people and injured 10 others, began just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday night with a suspect opening fire at the Star Dance Studio.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna reported that preliminary reports describe the suspect as a Asian male between the ages of 30 and 50. Authorities believe the suspect did not use an assault rifle, but did say witnesses wrestled the weapon out of his possession.
President Joe Biden offered his prayers to the victims of the shooting, urging people to “follow guidance from local officials and law enforcement” in a tweet Sunday.
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) shared his condolences for the victims of the “devastating acts of last night.”
Monterey Park should have had a night of joyful celebration of the Lunar New Year. Instead, they were the victims of a horrific and heartless act of gun violence.

Police say a motive for the shooting is still unknown and they said it is too early to know if an incident at the Lai Lai Ballroom in a neighboring town is related to the shooting.
