Paul Pelosi attacker David DePape called a reporter at San Francisco’s KTVU television news station on Friday from San Francisco County Jail and made numerous disturbing statements following the release of police body camera footage of his attack on the husband of former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

“I want to apologize to everyone. I messed up. What I did was really bad. I’m so sorry I didn’t get more of them. It’s my own fault. No one else is to blame. I should have come better prepared,” he told KTVU reporter Amber Lee.

Lee had reached out to DePape last year following his arrest and his call came expected on Friday. DePape allowed her to record his conversation but refused to allow follow-up questions.

DePape opened his comments with “an important message for everyone in America.”

“You’re welcome,” he said of the attack on Paul Pelosi.

He went on to say that “freedom and liberty are being killed systematically and deliberately.”

The “people killing it have names and addresses, so I got their names and addresses so I could pay them a little visit, have a heart to heart chat about their bad behavior,” he continued.

He then provided a disturbing apology to Americans about how he “messed up” in not getting “more of them” and “should have come better prepared.”

He explained that he has been censored online and promoted his website as a place with “300 pages of stuff they don’t want you to hear.” While sitting in jail, he said he is in the process of setting up a new site “out of the reach of tyrannical fascists and their internet censors.”
