Authorities provided an update early Tuesday morning into the manhunt for Danelo Cavalcante as the convicted murderer continues to evade law enforcement and “is armed” in a new location in Pennsylvania.
“PSP is pursuing Danelo Cavalcante in the area of Ridge Rd/Coventryville Rd/Daisy Point Rd in South Coventry Twp., Chester Co,” the Pennsylvania State Police posted on social media shortly before 2 a.m. on Tuesday. “He is armed. Residents in the area are asked to lock all doors and windows, secure vehicles, and remain indoors. Do not approach. Call 911 if seen.”
DESANTIS POINTS TO RENEWED TERRORISM THREAT ON SOUTHERN BORDER ON 9/11 ANNIVERSARY
Cavalcante, who was convicted of stabbing his ex-girlfriend Deborah Brandao to death in 2021 and was serving a life sentence for murder without parole, has avoided recapture for nearly two weeks. He has broken through perimeters and altered his appearance to avoid being caught.
Cavalcante is from Brazil. He allegedly killed Brandao to stop her from telling police that he’s wanted in his home country for a slaying there.
Not only was the guard who let Cavalcante escape criticized and later fired for their error, but authorities in Pennsylvania have come under scrutiny for failing to recapture the escaped convict, especially as they have nailed down his location but have been unable to find and apprehend him.

Cavalcante was already considered by authorities to be extremely dangerous, but he has shown himself to be resourceful, and his holding of a weapon now heightens fears over the threat he poses. State police have been authorized to use deadly force if it is not clear Cavalcante is surrendering.
Before escaping, he was set to be transferred to a state correctional institution in four weeks.
